INSTRUCTIONS – Packed contents stay good for at least 5 to 6 months.
Once unpacked please store the content in a clean, dry, airtight jar.
Always use a dry spoon to take out the gunpowder while serving.
HOW DO WE MAKE IT?
Gunpowder is just the right name for this dry and smoking hot chutney. Also called Podi, it is a favourite of mine, simply because it is so versatile an accompaniment to any main course.
The best part is that, it is actually not so difficult to make. However as a chef, I love the fact that
its simple ingredients when given a good dry stone grind, simple explode in sizzling taste.
I choose the most authentic ingredients comprising mainly of scorching red chillies, peppercorns and other spices. Plus urad dal, chana dal, dhania, sesame seeds, tamarind, curry leaves, hing and salt. All the main ingredients are roasted to a beautiful finish and then stone ground to transform into an amazing, aromatic orange powder. Now it’s ready to work its famous flaming hot magic.

Why? Because I love to see the way it adds drama to even a simple meal and make it all
the more enjoyable. It gives my dear customers a chance to experience something really
pungent and tasty along with the food that they prepare with Curry Patta Batters.
HOW DOES THE GUNPOWDER TASTE?
Fiery is a very mild word. The hot chillies blended with select spices create a
crunchy burst of a heat filled kick in every bite.
HOW TO ENJOY IT?
In delightful heaps with sesame oil or dollops of ghee dropped on it!
Light up idlis, every type of dosa, uttampams, upma or even parathas with its taste.
Enjoy it as an aside even with a plate of rice and curd.
